Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act (Regulation GG).

Periodically, banks are required to revise their policies to comply with regulatory changes. The Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act (Regulation GG) becomes effective for all business accounts at First American Bank on June 1, 2010.

First American Bank may not open accounts for commercial customers who engage in unlawful Internet gambling transactions as part of their business. Our existing First American Bank business account holders should be aware, the prohibition regarding unlawful internet gambling transactions applies to their commercial accounts, as well.

According to the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act, entities engaged in gambling may not knowingly accept payments from entities engaged in unlawful Internet gambling. “Restricted” transactions are prohibited from being processed through any First American Bank accounts. Restricted transactions include, but are not limited to, those in connection with unlawful Internet gambling involving: credit, electronic funds transfers, checks or drafts.
