How does CDARS® work?
First American Bank is a member of a special network. When you place a large amount with us, we in turn place your funds1 into CDs issued by other banks in the same network — in increments of less than the standard FDIC insurance maximum. Both principal and interest are guaranteed eligible for complete FDIC protection. You receive coverage from many banks yet have the convenience of working with just one.
