At First American Bank, protecting your information is our highest
priority. For this reason, we have chosen to enhance security to your
debit card by enrolling in the MasterCard SecureCode® program.
How does MasterCard SecureCode® work?
Once you have registered and created your own private SecureCode®,
you will automatically be prompted to provide your SecureCode® at
checkout, each time you make a purchase with a participating online
merchant. Your SecureCode® is quickly confirmed and then your
purchase is completed. Your SecureCode® will never be shared with
the merchant. It’s just like entering your PIN at an ATM.
How do I recognize a participating online merchant?
Most participating merchants will display the MasterCard SecureCode® logo on their site. However, even if you don’t see the SecureCode® logo, the merchant may still be a participant
and you will be prompted to provide your SecureCode®. Click here to view a current list of
participating merchants. Check back periodically as new merchants are added often.
Enrollment is mandatory when dealing with merchants who participate in the SecureCode® program. If
the merchant is not a SecureCode® participant,
you may use your card as you have been doing.
